Generator Connections Experience

Lowering technology costs, high wholesale market prices and favourable government policy incentives are driving unprecedented levels of new entrant generator connections in both the National Electricity Market and Wholesale Electricity Market.

The dynamics of the power system are rapidly changing in response to the influx of new investment while electrical networks are now being used for purposes not previously conceived. The opportunities to get involved are very attractive but without careful and well thought out planning, the connection process can present endless challenges and barriers to progress.

At Amplitude, we work very closely with our clients at an early stage to understand their objectives and to provide a customised technical and advisory service to secure a connection agreement quickly.

Amplitude has a team of very experienced power system engineers that have worked with many different types of generating systems, including hybrid arrangements, in Australia and internationally.

Amplitude’s knowledge of the technical standards and processes relating to generator connections in the NEM, WEM, Northern Territory, New Zealand and other regions is excellent. Our experience with generation is complemented by transmission planning capabilities and a solid understanding of the regulatory requirements underpinning network and generation investment.
